Roy Hodgson praised his side's counter-attacking performance in the 3-2 win at Arsenal, saying they were good value for their three goals.

Roy Hodgson insists Wilfried Zaha is happy at Crystal Palace despite the player saying he wants to play Champions League football.

Zaha last week dropped a heavy hint that he wants to leave Palace and play in the Champions League, saying he "has to experience the Champions League" at some point in his career.

He played a pivotal role on Sunday as Palace recorded their eighth away win of the season with a 3-2 victory at Arsenal.

When asked about Zaha's comments, Hodgson replied: "How many players, if the question is put to them, will say they don't want to play Champions League football?

"Congratulations to the journalist, who has caught him at the right moment.

"He's certainly happy at Crystal Palace, that wasn't the performance of a player who wants to get away from the club. He's got a four-year deal, is one of the highest-paid players and adored by everyone in south London. But life throws things up and we'll see what happens. I'm looking forward to seeing him in a Crystal Palace shirt for many years to come."

Palace's victory at The Emirates broke the Eagles through the 40-points barrier for the campaign.

Led by an excellent defensive showing from Scott Dann and Martin Kelly, Palace were good value for their victory as Arsenal's top-four hopes were dented.

"It was a very satisfying performance," Hodgson said.

"If you're going to get a result here you're going to have to give a really good performance. The defending has to be top notch and you have to be certain that when you get the space your two front players do what ours did today.

"We carried that threat with the front players, the midfield four and back four were excellent."
