Hearts defender John Souttar and forward Uche Ikpeazu have both been ruled out for up to six months due to injury.

Souttar has a hip problem that he incurred while on international duty with Scotland, while Ikpeazu has a foot injury that requires surgery.

Hearts captain Christophe Berra has already been sidelined until Christmas with a severe hamstring tear.

"John will be out for five or six months by the looks of things. He landed awkwardly and tore the lining of his hip, which is a blow," said Hearts manager Craig Levein.

"While we're on it, Uche will be out for five months as well by the looks of things. This problem we've had with his foot we've managed to finally get to the bottom of.
