Barcelona's Luis Suarez was sure he had scored with a rabona finish against Deportivo but the officials ruled the ball did not cross the line

Luis Suarez was denied a goal after his rabona finish was scooped away by Deportivo goalkeeper Ruben - but was his effort over the line?

In the last minute of the first half, Lionel Messi raced into the box before cutting the ball back for his team-mate, Suarez, who was coming up behind him.

The Uruguay international took his shot, but saw it deflected off a Deportivo defender in the middle of the box before the rebound fell to him at the near post where he tried to score with a rabona finish.

However, Ruben was there to hook the ball clear but not before Suarez turned to the referee and appealed for it to stand with the ball going over the line - or so he thought.

The official waved away the claims and with no goalline technology in La Liga, the true nature of the goal will never be known.
