Vincent Kompany is out of Manchester City's Champions League last-16 clash with Monaco on Tuesday.

The Belgium centre-back missed the FA Cup fifth-round goalless draw with Huddersfield at the weekend after picking up a leg problem in training.

Manager Pep Guardiola said he will be available for the replay at the Etihad Stadium on February 28 but Gael Clichy could return to the side at home to Monaco.

"Vincent is not ready for tomorrow. I think it won't be longer. Hopefully, for the Huddersfield game he will be ready," Guardiola said.

"More or less the rest are okay. We will see after the session tomorrow. Gael had a problem in his back. He is much, much better. Maybe he will be back tomorrow. Tomorrow we will also decide which goalkeeper will play."

Monaco currently top the French Ligue 1 and have scored more goals than any other team in Europe's top five leagues this season.

Guardiola said: "I am really impressed how good Monaco are. They physical and strong, the full-back play like wingers, the wingers play like attacking-midfielder. They are killers in the box.

"Both holding midfielders are intelligent, physical, strong, and they arrive in the box as a complete team. They are the best team in Europe in terms of scoring goals. So it's a tough draw.

"City's recent history is quite good, but they weren't here for a long time. Europe will be analysing us, to kill us if we don't win."
