Cardiff's David Marshall will have a medical at Hull City on Monday after the two clubs agreed a £3.5m fee for the goalkeeper.

The Premier League newcomers have been linked with the former Celtic player for most of the summer and they now look to have got their man with Marshall having missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Reading as a deal nears completion.

Hull are currently without their regular goalkeeper Allan McGregor - Marshall's international team-mate - due to a back injury.

He hurt himself in the last game of the regular Championship season against Rotherham and after surgery on the problem, he is not expected back in action until November.

Marshall does have Premier League experience having appeared for Cardiff in the top flight two years ago and he came close to joining West Brom last summer.

Marshall has been with Cardiff since 2009 and has made 281 appearances for the club. He previously played for Norwich and has won 24 caps for his country since his debut 12 years ago.
